Canadian Pacific heavy 4-6-2 2317 is one of the star performers at the Steamtown National Historic Site in Scranton, Pennsylvania. Constructed by the Montreal Locomotive Works in 1923. this handsome engine pulled main line freight and passenger trains across Canada until her retirement in 1959. Purchased by preservationist F. Nelson Blount in 1965, the big Pacific was rebuilt and returned to service in 1978 at Steamtown's previous location in Bellows Falls, Vermont. Due to her large size, the 2317 could not haul excursion trains over the Vermont Railway, but when Steamtown moved to Scranton, the big Pacific finally had a magnificent piece of railroad where she could really strut her stuff! This fine program traces the fascinating history of the various classes of Canadian Pacific 4-6-2s, with the emphasis on the 2317 and her G5 class cousins. Through full-color archive film, you'll see these colorful locomotives in regular service, along with other CP classes like the famous 4-4-4 Jubilees and 4-6-4 Royal Hudsons. The six surviving G5s are shown in fantrip service, along with the 2317's Vermont debut. The highlight of the program is a complete trip from Scranton to Moscow behind the 2317, illustrated with beautiful lineside sequences, dramatic in-cab scenes, and our famous ChoochCam locomotive-mounted minicams. The stack talk is superb and the sights and sounds of this proud Pacific blasting down the old Lackawanna main line are truly memorable!

MASSACHUSETTS' MAINE ATTRACTION is the only definitive documentary on Edaville ever produced. Through extremely rare archive film footage, you'll learn the history of the Maine two-footers and observe regular-service trains on the Sandy River and Bridgton & Harrison Railroads. Passengar and freight activities, and even winter scenes, are included. The program then describes the evolution of Edaville, from its planning and construction as a cranberry-hauling freight line to a full-fledged theme park. You'll ride the train and view the railroad from both onboard and trackside perspectives, and see coverage of special railfan events, including night activities. EDAVILLE REVISITED describes the sale and movement of most of the Edaville equipment to the new Maine Narrow Gauge Museum in Portland, and the short-lived 1997 revival of Edaville itself. The program includes beautifully-photographed scenes taken during the legendary Railfan Weekend in October 1991, when 2-4-4T 7 was correctly lettered for the Bridgton & Harrison Railroad for the first time in 50 years! The little engine pulled a special photo freight through spectacular fall colours. Coverage of the final 1991 Holiday Spectacular at Edaville is then shown, followed by the equipment move to Portland and the 1997 Edaville Cranberry Festival, complete with superb helicopter views of the little trains in action. A tour of the Portland museum featuring trackside, onboard, and in-cab views, along with some unusual night video sequences and a colourful fireworks display, completes the program.
